A delegation from the Nanumba Traditional Council in the Northern Region of Ghana, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq).
The visit was aimed at strengthening relations between the Traditional Council and the Authority, while exploring areas of collaboration to support development and address issues of mutual interest.
The delegation was led by Nyelinbulgu Naa Dassana Andani Yakubu, Acting President of the Nanumba Traditional Council and Regent of Bimbilla. He was accompanied by Chief Amidu Seidu, Chief of Kpanso; Naa Zo, Assistant to the Regent; and Dr. Mohammed Rasheed, Secretary to the Overlord.
In an address delivered on his behalf by his spokesperson, Chief Amidu Seidu, the Regent of Bimbilla expressed his desire to build a strong and lasting partnership with the National Petroleum Authority to support development initiatives in the Nanung Traditional Area.
“We have realised the need to expand our network because our people require development, and we believe that building a relationship with the Authority can help us achieve this,” he said.
“We are hopeful that through collaboration, opportunities can be created for potential businesspeople within the Nanung Traditional Council.”
Responding to the delegation, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq), commended the Regent of Bimbilla for his leadership and commitment to development in the Nanung Traditional Area.
“I want to personally thank you for your development-oriented leadership. Over the past eight years, Bimbilla has experienced relative peace, and that is commendable. Leadership that prioritises development makes a significant difference,” Mr. Tameklo stated.
Mr. Tameklo further assured the delegation of the Authority’s readiness to engage and collaborate within its mandate to support development efforts in the traditional area.
“I can assure you that all your concerns have been noted, and the NPA is ready to collaborate with the Nanumba Traditional Council,” he added.
The meeting reaffirmed the National Petroleum Authority’s commitment to stakeholder engagement and collaboration with traditional institutions in Ghana as part of its broader efforts to promote inclusive development and strengthen partnerships across the country.
