The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has held a strategic meeting with key stakeholders and Executives of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat to advance collaboration on the upcoming Night Economy Pilot Project scheduled for December within the Osu enclave. The initiative forms part of ongoing measures to operationalize the 24-Hour Economy Initiative within the petroleum downstream industry.
The meeting, held on November 19, provided practical insights to guide the full implementation of the initiative. Stakeholders noted that the pilot project will serve as a test case for assessing how a 24-hour economy can be effectively structured and sustained in the downstream sector before eventual nationwide rollout.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., Chief Executive of the NPA and Chair of the session, emphasized that security will be a top priority during the pilot. He underscored the need for strong collaboration with the Ghana Police Service to ensure adequate protection as well as to develop safe operational strategies to support 24-hour economic activity.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), Executives of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, and staff of the NPA.
