The frenzy was high as the NPA Chief Executive, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.), led the charge to inspire the Authority’s indefatigable football team to beat Forestry Commission 1-0.
The win put the NPA top of Group B with 19 points and a place at the semis in the University of Ghana Corporate Football League.
True to what analysts had predicted, the NPA team moved swiftly to clinch a goal within the first five minutes with a corner kick from Rover which resulted in an own goal.
The jubilation for the goal was deafening from the NPA stands and echoed by the High Morale ‘Jama’ Group.
Directors and Heads of Departments present joined in the celebration at the occasion, which was spiced up by the Happy Hour celebration.
The first half was fairly balanced between NPA and Forestry Commission but the Foresters kept pressing for an equalizer but the defense commandeered by the terrific Captain T.J. proved to be impenetrable.
Coach Eben was seen issuing out instructions to ensure that the NPA lads stayed compact.
The second half saw the Foresters up their game with some nervy moments of near goal misses.
One occasion was when they missed a goal by an inch from a strike by their thunderous striker.
Moments later, Rover of NPA gave a thunderous shot but missed the goal post of the Foresters.
The attacks and counter attacks continued till the final whistle which was met by shouts of joy and relief.
In a show of appreciation, Captain T.J. led his team to the NPA stands to acknowledge their massive support.
The NPA team is meeting Union Ghana for the semis on Friday July 4, 2025.
The sterling performance of the NPA team gives a strong indication that it is poised to win the trophy.
