NPA, SPE Ghana Strengthen Collaboration to Boost Professional Development in Energy Sector*
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Ghana have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in Ghana’s petroleum downstream sector.
The two organizations made the pledges at a meeting hosted by the NPA Chief Executive, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.).
Discussions centred on advancing professional development and creating broader opportunities for young people and professionals in the energy industry.
SPE Ghana’s Special Projects Chair, Mr. Fiifi Nyarkoh Otoo, emphasised the need to increase the Society’s engagement with the downstream sector, particularly to benefit student members and early-career professionals.
In response, the NPA CE expressed the Authority’s willingness to support these efforts.
He pledged to provide internship and national service placements for students, facilitate professional growth initiatives, and encourage NPA staff participation in SPE programmes, including upcoming conferences.
The renewed partnership aims to tackle pressing industry challenges, enhance capacity-building efforts, and drive innovation through research and knowledge exchange. It will also explore opportunities for collaboration across disciplines such as law, finance, engineering, and policy development.
SPE Ghana continues to play a pivotal role in building strategic alliances that foster excellence and drive progress across the energy value chain
