UG Corporate Football League: NPA meets Forestry in decisive Group B showdown

The University of Ghana Corporate Football League is approaching a dramatic climax, and all eyes are on one of Group B’s most anticipated fixtures: National Petroleum Authority (NPA) versus Forestry Commission

With top spot on the line and a growing rivalry between the two sides, Friday’s clash promises more than just points—it’s a battle for momentum, pride, and control.

NPA currently lead Group B with 16 points from seven matches, boasting five wins, one draw, and a single defeat. Known for their tactical discipline and defensive organisation, they have been a dominant force throughout the campaign.

Conceding only three goals—the fewest in the group—while scoring 13, NPA have established themselves as both defensively resolute and clinical in attack

Buoyed by recent consistent performances, NPA will go into this encounter with confidence.

A win on Friday would strengthen their grip on the top spot and place them firmly in the driving seat heading into the final round of fixtures.

However, their toughest challenge yet awaits in the form of the Forestry Commission—a side just two points behind in third place with 14 points. Forestry have been quiet impressive, matching NPA’s goal tally with 13 while adopting a more expansive, attacking approach.

Their defence has also held firm, conceding just five times. With four wins, two draws, and one loss, Forestry have proven themselves not just as contenders, but as genuine title threats.

Beyond the numbers, this is a clash of styles. NPA’s structured, disciplined approach will be tested against Forestry’s fluid, attacking brand of football. It’s a classic duel between defensive steel and creative flair, where one moment of brilliance—or a single lapse—could decide the outcome.

Kick-off is at 8:00 PM on Friday, 27 June 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium (Warm-Up Pitch).

The UG Corporate Football League is proudly organised by the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate and RITE Sports Services, with support from GLICO General Insurance, Viggo Energy, Socaloca, and the Ghana Football Association.
